The total turnover of the Dutch ICT sector in 2014 amounted to 12.2 billion euros, an increase of 3% compared to 2013. In particular, the cloud market did very well and the results are given a boost. This concludes ABN AMRO in its vision of ICT software and services. The software market is performing well, which is mainly driven by the cloud. The cloud is currently good for 20% of the total ICT market in the Netherlands.
“The cloud will change the ICT sector” The bank expects the cloud will drastically change the ICT sector. ABN AMRO expects high growth in software and an acceleration of growth for IT services. Especially encouraging the increasing use of software in both industry and the public sector software market, as well as the cloud. According to ABN AMRO, the growth of SaaS is a crucial factor behind the growth in exports of Dutch software. The cloud opens up new markets. SMEs that could not afford expensive software packages first because of the large investment that was needed for this, can now take these solutions from the cloud thanks to monthly fees.
