Frontin, specialist in multi-tenant Planning & Control software applications related to the Municipality Fund, joins Inergy, a majority participation of Main Capital. With this step, Inergy continues to build on its product portfolio for the semi-government market.
Inergy, a specialist provider of data and analytics services, and Frontin Group, have joined forces. The two companies will continue under the name of Inergy, whereby the product names of Frontin as PAUW, BUIG and Frontinfo will continue to exist in the market.
With its current LIAS product suite, Inergy already offers a broad functionality in the field of Planning & Control for local authorities, provinces, regional water bodies and the education sector. With this tool, Inergy is market leader among the Dutch municipalities. Frontin’s products, aimed at determining contributions from the Municipality Fund, fit in seamlessly with LIAS products and are used by almost all Dutch municipalities.
Inergy is increasingly focusing on software applications for the semi-governmental market and aims to support municipalities to work more ‘data-driven’. This grants municipalities access to better management information and better ‘grip’ on key domains, such as business operations, the social domain and the public space.
Mathijs van Houweninge, CEO of Inergy: “The combination of Frontin and Inergy is a major step forward in realizing our ambitions in the government market. The combination with Frontin fits well in our portfolio and our strategy for for tools related to (semi-) governments. I am delighted that Dirk Jan, Frontin’s figurehead, will remain involved with Inergy after the transaction. After all, he is nationally recognized as the key expert of the Municipality Fund ”

About Frontin Group
Frontin supplies three online products: Frontin PAUW, Frontin BUIG and Frontinfo. In 2001, PAUW was launched: this web-based application supports municipalities in determining contributions from the Municipality Fund. The 355 Dutch municipalities receive money from the national government from the Municipality Fund, with a size of approximately 31 billion euros.
Municipalities receive a bundled benefit (BUIG) from central government for the payment of socials benefits and for the use of wage cost subsidies. Frontin BUIG is the product with which municipalities gain insight into the structure of their BUIG budgets and their financial perspectives for the coming years.
Frontinfo is a knowledge platform for municipalities in the field of the financial relationship between governments. Knowledge experts from the market give mark-ups on this report, after which the information is made accessible in a user-friendly way via app, newsletter and website.
